Recounting The Journey, This Mother's Day...

~~~
Since the last one week, my heartbeat was playing havoc. Pacing, given the thrill of the burning question - 'Would I hear those three words, those for which I had longed?'
No, not those three - ' I love you'; those had been cherished a couple of months back. This time, it was more than those. Have you got it?
Yes! The three golden words this time around were 'You are Pregnant'.
The statement which can lead any married woman's life into a topsy-turvy situation.
This burning question led me to the Gynae in no time. My fingers were crossed the entire time, to hear from her, a reply in the affirmative. And, she didn't disappoint me. With a broad smile on her face, she declared, 'Yeah, now you ought to visit me every three weeks for the next nine months, after which I'd be happy to hand over to you, your bundle of joy.'
For that moment, I experienced a multitude of emotions, which cannot find expression in words, but foremost was the feeling of Gratitude to the Almighty for bestowing upon me, the bliss and cherished privilege of nurturing a new life within me.
In the next moment however, a tsunami of doubts, questions raged inside me. This being my first pregnancy, I had no idea how to deal with it. Of course, I wanted the best for my baby. But, ensuring that my baby grew well in me seemed like a maze, which was difficult to navigate by oneself.
The doctor could very well gauge the mixed reaction on my face. She held my hand and assured me - 'Everything will be fine. Just be yourself, be happy, don't strain your body and mind unnecessarily. Eat healthy and follow my instructions as far as mild exercise and the intake of vitamin pills are concerned. It will all be fine!'
Yes, I will! I was determined to endure through the best and worst for my baby and myself too. I knew it for a fact that unless the Mother is hale and hearty, she can't expect the same for her baby.
I reached home and broke the good news to all the family members and the journey to wellness began. Being a working woman, I had to now cope with my pregnancy, job and household chores, all in one go. The family members took care of the house and I kept myself stress free on the work front.
Days passed by leading me to embrace the bodily changes. Some unpleasant, many more pleasant.
Needless to say, I too had to deal with nausea or morning sickness. For me, however, the sickness was not only limited to the morning time, but lasted almost all day long. It happens, my doctor told me. One should not worry as this phase too passes away. Eating healthy could help - it did help me - in this regard.
During her second trimester, every expectant mother is bothered about stretch marks, which are an aesthetic celebration in my opinion, bundled with pregnancy. I was mindful of their appearance and used to lightly massage the area believing that this exercise would lighten the scars.
In the third trimester came the 'baby bump' as it is addressed, nowadays. One should not be conscious of the visibility of the tummy but dressing gracefully helps. After all, you are and should be proud of and not ashamed of being pregnant.
As the time of delivery grew near, the amazing realization of being a mother grew on me too. Along with me, my husband and both sets of family members were waiting impatiently for 'D-Day'.
When that day came, my water broke, the labor pains consumed me and my screams were growing louder by the minute. At the same time, I was thinking of the abundance of joy that was to be bestowed upon me, in a couple of hours. This thought helped me in coping with the pain.
God gave me the courage to bear, and believe me, he gives this strength to all. All of this experience was encapsulated forever in that one moment when I finally became a Mother.
Yes, that is what pregnancy can do to you. To all the expectant mothers out there, it's about putting all those apprehensions to rest, shedding all inhibitions about being pregnant, about what-how-when of managing yourself and your baby during those nine months, about giving birth by bearing lots of pain.
Yes, of course. All of this is an experience of a lifetime but the moment you take your newborn in your arms, the moment she or he first glances at you, you become unmindful of the entire universe as from that very moment, your child becomes your entire universe. :)
It has been two decades to the time when I embraced motherhood, yet recalling this account brings along with it, a feel-good-factor which leads me to celebrate motherhood with each moment of life!
Pamper Them From Within...
Tiny tots are true bundles of joy. They are the ones who light up our world, and the entire notion of not letting the child within oneself die is rephrased for life, after one embraces parenthood.
Quite naturally, the first emotion which a newborn evokes is that of protectiveness. Given that such skin is at the paramount of gentleness, fragility and delicate being at first touch, one can't help but admire and at the same time, be taken aback by the painstaking amount of caution that would go into realizing that such skin would be Supple, Subtle, Yet Susceptible.
Being a first-time mother back in the 90s, I too learnt the ropes gradually. It wasn't an easy task at first, but the patience has been worth it. After all, if motherhood had to be easy, it wouldn't begin with labor! :)
I've now come to realize that apart from some physical commodities and noticeable measures to shield a newborn's or toddler's skin, there's a lot which could work wonders from behind the scenes. However, these valuable insights often go unnoticed or are neglected more often as an oversight.
These five values could very well imbibe the essence of being #SoftestForBabySkin too, for they would not only keep the baby's skin soft but also aid them in the long run as an individual on the path of life. :)
 ~~~

Truth and Fairness: To lead life in a clear manner, there needs to be a substantial amount of truth and fairness around. It creates a cloud of positivism around. These positive vibes in turn simulate a certain cheer in and around the whole family to establish harmony amongst each other. The same is definitely going to impact a baby empathetically and will help in keeping their soft skin healthy.

Family Values and Bonding: The inculcation of family values, must be dealt with, on a priority basis. It is not only about enhancing the learnings of the baby who needs love and care but also about being upheld at home in a universal manner.
Some things in life are not to be announced or told as and when they happen; some emotions reflect everywhere. That is applicable in this case when the values and bonding are something which reflect in your actions, talks, behavior, words, looks, body language and almost everything you do. It is difficult to hide from oneself, let alone others, and it is more difficult to disguise.
You must not act irresponsibly with such a crucial matter as familial bonding as your baby's soft heart, body, skin and mind are definitely going to be impacted by, and derive a lot of energy from it to stay healthy.

Respect: Respect has to be maintained in voice and words - for others and for oneself too. What you speak and how you speak is very important. Both are significant because if you speak well but fail in selecting good words at the very instance they need to be said, it would be of no use. Similarly if you are brimming with great ideas and words at one instance in time but are not able to express them in front of others, it would weigh down on manifesting your opinionated self.
Harshness in the vocable would lead to your child adopting 'like-for-like' attitude as a child's mind and mannerisms parallel moulding clay. They would then pick up such harshness as they would believe that it is a way of life. Gentleness in spoken word however, would go into making your child gracefully express themselves, in accordance with the need of the situation always.

Space: Everyone needs space in life. You need to be generous in providing space to one another in the family. With toddlers, it is the first and foremost prerequisite because if absent, it would lead to irritability which would take on a toll on your child's health. You wouldn't want that to be the case, would you?

Wisdom: Let wisdom speak in your personal and professional life spheres. Wisdom gained from the many experiences you have had, as a mature adult is a treasure that needs to be preserved. Never let your wisdom go away. It is a keepsake which needs to be passed on, in the form of anecdotes to the young children in the family to enable them to face any situation in life with poise.

Supple, Subtle, Yet Susceptible...

This post has been declared as one of the Winners of #SoftestFor BabySkin by Pampers India and Blogadda.

11:00 AM
New Delhi

It has been just three days that Poonam has returned from attending the launch of #SoftestForBabySkin. Well, I know because I read it on her blog. Didn't I?

And, I am green with envy. Because, she didn't take me with her. Leave alone me accompanying her, she's enjoying with another one here.

Well, she's cuddling this excited individual here, but once she was back, she was with me. She had attended that event for me. While she then became occupied by the formalities associated with attending the event, like exploring the Goodie Bag she had received and recalling to jot down the exact proceedings of the evening, I was busy thinking to myself - 'This #SoftestForBabySkin Diaper is not the ONLY commodity you'd require to keep my soft skin safe'.

Well, I kept it to myself initially, but now, I can't contain it anymore. Who better than me to counsel you on the other essential pointers to keep soft skin safe, dear Poonam?

I am crawling to you. Just wait!

Of course, it's me. After all, my skin is a valuable treasure. Alas, it is supple, subtle, yet susceptible. To counter that susceptibility, you would want to pair these five pointers with your preferred Pampers Premium Care Pants (which you had reviewed too) without a doubt. :)

I am a pampered child. Yes, it has been so since the start. I do not complain, but I'm going to convey my cheat-sheet to protect my skin by the means of one-lined quotations.

That's because I want you too, to guess what facet of baby-care it could point toward. Of course, I'd be elucidating each one's detail so that I am taken care of, properly and skin is able to retain its suppleness and softness and negate the susceptibility!

~~~
A Clean Home Is A Happy Home: A clean home is important. A clean environment is also critical for the same purpose. Every touch that comes my way should not only be gentle but also be antiseptic in nature, thoroughly sanitized. Well, I'm akin to being carried around in gentle arms or being seated on a warm lap, so you must ensure that you should also be neatly dressed.
I Choose To Be Happy Today: Happiness around me with cheerful faces emanates a positive impact to my activity and keeps me joyous round the clock. There is a psychological impact which scores high on the list, to ensure my healthy growth.
If there is a gloomy atmosphere around me, I apologize to remark that I would be better off with such a negative impact masking my positive energies.
Well, with a child as cheerful as myself, it should not be such a herculean task for you to be your cheerful best, should it?
A Big No To Gloominess!
Keep me away from it, please.
Green Is My Favorite Color: This isn't because I was envious previously. I was born in nature's lap and would like to marvel at nature's each realm by being as close-knit to it, as possible.
I would thus encourage the use of as many green products as possible. All commodities of daily use, be it edible or non-edible need to be liberated of chemicals and all synthetic products that could lead to life-threatening consequences in the long run or even otherwise need to be kept at bay.
My milk bottle should be sterilized before every use, with the obvious pre-requisite that it had been procured from a reliable, known and quality source in the first place. The milk must be pasteurized, and that goes without saying, too.
Green, leafy vegetables need to be washed and cleaned properly before preparation. I would not want to feed on dust and germs masked as food, even when I grow up. Similar precautionary measures follow for all such products present in the house, coming into my direct or even indirect contact.
Nothing Is So Strong As True Gentleness: All-cloth towels are what I prefer. As soft as possible is how I prefer them to be. Synthetic clothes may have catastrophic consequences towards my soft skin.
Similarly, oils and soaps that are used to tend to me are required to be chemical-free. No harsh or strong product should be applied to my susceptible skin. The products must be bought from a known and reliable source. You must try your best to examine thoroughly the 'Tests Approved & Certified' claims before procuring such products for me.
There are plenty of manipulative sellers in the market who sell artificial products at a subsidized cost. Never allow yourself to be trapped by such lucrative but risky offers. Such offers might lead to serious repercussions later. You must not prefer saving some pennies in the first go but think wisely and consider my life which would be at stake afterward. An initial saving of a few pennies might lead up to huge spendings at a later stage in my life.
When Words Fail, Music Speaks: While I'm still at my baby-babbling, gurgling, and cheeky best, music serves as my best accomplice! Neither too loud nor too harsh melodies sooth my mind and calm my thoughts. Ensure to play soft music at a low volume to pep up the mood for me. I would then be at my active best.
Keep observing the kinds of tunes and rhythms I tend to like more and that which evokes me into a playful mood.  For some time,  keep aside your preferences and match my beat as I dance to my tunes. My reactions to certain actions of yours would provide you with ample pointers, provided you are a keen observer. :)
~~~

You could take my word for it, Poonam. Such a balanced environment would ensure the best conditions for me to play, laugh, learn and grow up perfectly.

Your protectiveness would provide me with the perfect opportunities to be at ease with myself and the people around me.

Celebrating Each Day As 'International Day Of Happiness'!

Happiness.

A universal emotion.

They say, 'Smile, and the world smiles with you.'

A smile carries with it a certain blissful aura.

An aura which is guaranteed to let no individual escape from within its pleasant reach.

~~~
In today's fast paced life, our priorities have changed.
We've unlearnt the childish art of carefree exploration.
We've unlearnt how we used to spend all day in the sun, whiling away our time while we traded it for some memorable, impulsive tiffs and momentary patch-ups.
We've unlearnt how we too, used to drift away with the paper boats in that rainwater puddle.
 ~~~

For me, happiness is an uplifting emotion.

Somewhere among the grayest clouds of a depressing, tiring and gloomy day, recalling a precious memory or even being reminded of it, serves as the quintessential silver lining.

~~~
There are numerous episodes which play through our lives in a miniscule span of one single day.
I refer to it as miniscule as opposed to the scale at which events take place, all across the universe.
Yet, in the miniscule, lies spontaneity.
The spontaneity of that golden moment is enough for you to endure through the entire rough patch.
~~~

For me, happiness lies in recalling those precious moments which I've treasured all this time - moments spread across my life-span, spent well with family, friends, and well-wishers.

Once in a blue moon, I am reminded of random episodes, invaluable memories, and precious instances, and it is these random episodes which bring a smile to my face - ear to ear, without fail.

For me, happiness surfaces from the core, when I come back home, to my daughter, for the time when we marvel at and share the happenings of each other's busy days. :)

~~~
Of course, it is reassuring to know that you won't return home to loneliness.
There is someone to listen to the proceedings of your day, with rapt, undivided attention.
That feeling is the most comforting in the whole world. :)
~~~

They say, 'Smiles are contagious.'

I wholeheartedly agree with this ideology.

Very unknowingly, but in all probability, if you see any random stranger smiling at you, you are sure to smile back.

I say this because you never know, if your smile could make someone else's day!

I believe in trying to better someone's mood, to lift their spirits and that is what betters my mood, and  makes my day happier and lighter, too.

It is always better to smile your worries away! :)

~~~
Receiving pleasant surprises brightens up my day and ushers in the happiness too.
Surprises, for me, refer not only to the materialistic, but also to the unseen and unexpected happenings of the day.
Sometimes, an unforeseen change of plans in the day's schedule works out properly too.
And, if an impromptu variation does work out, it undoubtedly makes me feel happier and proud of myself too.
For, you must fully equip yourself to deal with the unexpected and unseen, at all times in life. :)
~~~

Stealing away some 'Me-Time' for the moments when I'm all by myself is a rare event.

How do you feel when you are told that you possess something rare?

You feel as if you're on top the world, right?

I'm the happiest person when I'm all by myself.

For, it accompanies with itself, a certain degree of freedom.

The freedom, which tends to lose itself among the monotonicity of  a routine and the overly mechanized movement of thoughts and actions. :)

~~~
With these, #IAmHappy and I celebrate each day as 'International Day Of Happiness'! :)
From A Mother To A Son...
12 Golden Precursors For A Son To Lead A Prosperous & Peaceful Marriage With His Wife Who Comes To Transform His House Into A Home...
  • No one can experience Love without a feeling of Oneness.
  • Just because someone doesn't love you in the way you expect them to, doesn't mean that they don't love you with all they have got.
  • Admire the person not for who he/she is but for who you are when you are with him/her.
  • Many marriages would be better if the husband and the wife clearly understood that They Are On The Same Side.
  • You don't need to be on the same wavelength to succeed in Marriage, you just need to be able to ride each other's waves.
  • Surrender in the form of submission may not be defeat but acceptance.
  • Peace & Happiness are not the absence of conflict from life but the ability to cope with it.
  • Never walk out on a quarrel with Your Wife as she is Your Life.
  • Nobody will ever win the Battle of the Sexes. There is too much fraternizing with the enemy.
  • The ultimate test of a relation is to disagree but still hold hands.
  • Love the person the most, when he deserves it the least because that is when they need it the most.
  • It is foolish to experience Hate when one can experience Love.
Love ----- Various Perspectives!
Love -- was, is and will always remain a mystery. Probably because everyone's perception is different about it. It is too difficult to understand the difference between infatuation and love as infatuation when it is - is perceived as love only.
     Here are some view points about Love which probably can help you all demystify this mystery to some extent ( if you desire to do so ) :-
  • Love is ---
Understanding
Feeling
Bliss
Infinite
GOD
  • Those with an Ego cannot experience Love.
  • True Love is totally unselfish and comes with a feeling of oneness experienced always as Bliss.
  • True Love is the bliss which flows through us like an endless stream of emotions in which everything is immersed including ourselves.
  • Love the person not for who he/she is but for who you are when you are with him/her.
  • Love isn't about becoming someone else's  'Perfect Person' but about finding someone who helps you become the best person you can be.
Last but not the least ---
  • No man is ever worth your tears --- And the one who is won't ever make you cry.
Give & Get True Love...
Size Does Matter - But Of An EGO ? - Say No To Big One
In our childhood days, we all used to love playing with balloons - big inflated balloons. But I wonder as we grow up, does that air from those balloons enter our brains!
If not then how come percentage of persons with inflated egos is increasing day by day? What does this type of ego supply? Ego satisfaction? Does it - really?
I doubt, when I see someone zooming at a speed of  a hundred kilometers overtaking another car to feel elated but then is found standing amid other vehicles at the next red light as he doesn't have a flying gear.
Rickshaw pullers and carrier autos show off their inflated egos when they ply at 5-20 kilometers per hour but still move in right lane and don't give way to fast moving vehicles even on persistent honking by them (though they don't want to honk but have to do). Does it really satisfy their egos? I wonder - does their ego not deflate when these fast moving vehicles overtake them (although they have to do it from wrong side thanks to these stupid driver's egos).
Those pedestrians who walk in the middle of the road as if they are having their morning walk in the garden and as if they are deaf when vehicles try to warn them by honking horns - Doesn't this inflated egos of theirs at times cause them their limbs or even their lives? So what is the use of such inflated egos?
The previous day while on wheel I saw one learner in a car jumping the red light and I was confused whether it was the learner's ego to cross the road first or the trainer's ego who instead of teaching him never to do it, taught him the lesson of doing something which he himself did every now and then.
People jumping the red light when bang their vehicle in another person's vehicle who is crossing the road when the signal is green for his side, not only hurt themselves but the other person also gets hurt because of no fault of his. So has one person's inflated ego to cross the road first helped anyone? Certainly not. People read about and see such accidents so many times but still the condition is not improving.
So let go of your EGO and let PEACE prevail in everybody's life.
DECREASING the size of EGO by one person can INCREASE the happiness and peace in so many person's lives whether of his family or the society.
Freeze Frame The Happiness - Maze Into The Memory Lane
Is it cute smile or mischievous shine in big eyes that is captivating?
Forty Six years and that first photograph clicked in a studio - its memory is still fresh like a flower in my heart. Yeah, that's me in the summer of 1966. I was so eager that my parents were taking about my brother and me to the studio 2 kilometers away from our home to get our photograph clicked.
Those were the days when getting clicked was not as easy as it is now at the split of a second from even our mobile. I was so excited that it was difficult for my brother to hold me - both when he was holding me sitting at the backseat of the bicycle which my father was riding (fearing that I may fall down) and when getting clicked at the studio when I was jumping forward to catch the fascinating camera from the hands of the photographer. Out of the two situations the bicycle one can't be seen by you as that is clicked only in my mind but you can certainly note the latter one in the photo where my brother is maturely holding me tight.
Whenever I see this photograph a gleaming smile instantly comes on my face and my heart is filled with affection for my brother.
Not just me, when my daughter saw this photograph when she was two years old, she might have felt some Karmic connection that she jumped with happiness as she correlated her two front teeth with mine in the photograph. It enhanced my happiness manifold.
Even now, when I first read about this contest and told her, we both said in sync that it has to be this photograph only.
