Leisurely Dining At Cafe Hawkers...

Cafe Hawkers Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

Cafe Hawkers is one of the feel-good restaurants to visit when in the heart of Delhi, in Connaught Place.

Located at a stone's throw from the legendary Odeon Cinema, Cafe Hawkers is spread across two levels - ground and first - and has well-lit premises modeled around the concept of Hawker's Street, hence the name Cafe Hawkers.

The decor has a number of trinkets and a 'Special Of The Day' is also mentioned on a chalkboard at the entrance. The seating arrangement has comfy couches and service is prompt, and with a smile. :)

The Menu at Cafe Hawkers boasts of a variety of cuisines - Indian, Oriental, Italian, Continental - and Chef's Signature Dishes are marked by a cutesy umbrella logo against the names.

There are also quirky gastronomic quotes that find their place on the menu, inducing a chuckle or two.

Coming to what would be worth relishing at Cafe Hawkers...

Beverages:

Paan Rose Shake had the subtle rosy hue and a Gulkand topping on the side.

Choco Mint Shake was a mix-and-match of sweet chocolate and refreshing mint that had a mint leaf as garnish.

Cappuccino was the good old caffeine brew.

Soups:

Tuscan Tomato and Basil was the classic warm broth accompanied with a bread basket.

Minestrone was the one-pot-meal of pasta and veggies.

Manchow was the authentic Oriental soup, with a dash of soy sauce.

Starters:

Chatpati Kamal Kakdi Ki Chaat had lotus stem fritters done the Indian street food way, with a dash of mint and pomegranate seeds on a bed of red cabbage.

Hawker's Special Tikki had potato fritters rendered in yogurt with a dash of tamarind, cheese chunks, and pomegranate.

Puchka were the classic Indian street food served alongside mint and tamarind dip in a bulb.

Tandoori Momos were giant in size and aesthetic but were a bit bland on the flavor, as they were just a mish-mash of cabbage and carrot chunks.

Almond Roast Sole Fish Tikka is one of the in-house specialties, with the lime-hinted melt-in-mouth fish fillets being garnished with an almond chunk.

Classic Stuffed Paneer Tikka had large cottage cheese chunks having a smooth layer of spinach sandwiched within it.

Main Course:

All Veggies Pizza was a 14" thin-crust pizza that was cheesy and had olives, bell peppers, corn, broccoli, mushroom, and onions as toppings.

Dessert:

Nutella Lovers Waffle is one of the popular sweet conclusions at Cafe Hawkers and was a nutty delight with warm and crisp waffles being topped with a scoop vanilla ice-cream and Nutella.

All in all, I had a pleasant time at Cafe Hawkers and it is an outlet that scores on providing a complete gastronomic experience with its delicious preparations, chirpy ambiance, and cheerful banter. :)

An Empowering Meal At TFIF - The Future Is Female...

TFIF - The Future is Female Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

TFIF - The Future Is Female, as the name suggests, is a cafe based on the premise of women empowerment, featuring an all-female staff. Situated on the fourth floor among many restaurants that are in the heart of Rajouri Garden, it is in the good company of MealODrama and Band Baaja Baaraat.

The outlet itself is a spacious one, with aesthetic decor featuring terrariums as lamps and on the outset, flora influences a major chunk of the interiors.

A three-month-old baby, TFIF is an eatery, bar, and bakery, all in one. There are ample natural lighting and multiple kinds of seating - couches, bar stools, etc.

With coasters featuring feminist slogans, the outlet has its vibe done right.

Here's what I would recommend trying at TFIF...

Beverages:

Mutka Iced Tea which comes in an earthen pot, hence the name. A refreshing drink, given the humid atmosphere.

Heaven On Earth has a subtle fruity flavor to it, topped with cherries.

Mango Cheesecake Shake was a thick shake with a dollop of cream, and spicy crisps as a garnish to balance the sweetness.

Titbits:

Tamatar Papdi Chaat and Khumani Tikki Chaat both have crisps layered with yogurt, pomegranate seeds, and tamarind dip. While the former has pulpy chunks of tomato, the latter has chunks of apricot.

Dimsums:

Between the Exotic Veggies and Peppy Paneer that I sampled, you can go for the latter, for a mish-mash of cottage cheese that lent it an Indianized flavor.

Soups:

There is either Mushroom Cappuccino that is a thick creamy broth served with Garlic Breadsticks, or the classic Oriental Soups filed under Soup of the Day.

Starters:

Beetroot Arancini with light pink arborio rice stuffed in cheese balls was a melt-in-mouth preparation.

Masala Khumb Ravioli is easily one of the nice appetizers, with button mushrooms cooked the Indian way stuffed between crunchy Ravioli sheets.

Main Course:

TFIF Manchurian Pizza is one of the in-house specialties and has a star-shaped crust that has Manchurian balls at its ends.

Paneer Longlata is an Indian preparation with soft cottage cheese sandwiches rendered in gravy paired with rice, salad, pickle, and mint dip.

Desserts:

Tiramisu came in a martini glass, topped off with cocoa powder and chocolate shaving. It was soft, creamy, and had a balance of bitter and sweet.

Butterscotch Waffles were warm and soft, topped with a dollop of vanilla, and caramelized sugar chunks.

All in all, I had a nice meal at TFIF and would deem it fit for a meal with friends and family alike.

A Decade of British Medical Journal In India...

It is just yesterday that British Medical Journal (BMJ) India celebrated its ten years of operations in South Asia.

BMJ started out in South Asia with the commencement of its operations in India. With a multitude of educational initiatives, some of which include Journals from BMJ, including The BMJ, BMJ Learning, BMJ Best Practice, Course in Diabetes, provision of high quality, evidence-based resources to clinicians in South Asia has always been on BMJ's radar. The commemoration of a decade marks BMJ's way of thanking all their partners, customers, stakeholders and collaborators in India over the past decade.

By the means of its numerous events such as The BMJ Awards South Asia, Healthcare Improvement Summits and The BMJ Conclave, BMJ has aimed to provide the best platforms to its delegates in South Asia.

BMJ has perseveringly trained nearly 9000 doctors through BMJ Masterclass and received a cumulative of 5000 entries in the BMJ Awards since its launch in 2014. In merely four years, the organization has trained 300+ doctors through its courses in Diabetes & CKD.

While sharing his vision and the help extended by BMJ, Mr. Santanu Mishra, Co-Founder and Executive Trustee, Smile Foundation said, “India is witnessing a rising demand for immediate medical facilities across urban and rural areas as a major part of the population continues to reside in urban slums or remote and hard-to-reach rural areas, and are also suffering and fighting the worst kind of ailments. In such a scenario a mobile healthcare service delivery system is the most practical mechanism that can deliver immediate relief to the needy. We are thankful to the British Medical Journal for their support in ‘Smile on Wheels’ programme. We are pleased to share with you that our partnership has facilitated the delivery of quality healthcare services to the very doorsteps of the needy, besides promoting healthcare awareness among the underprivileged.”

Commenting on the occasion and applauding BMJ India's achievements, Mr. Prashant Mishra, Managing Director, BMJ India & South Asia, said,

“It gives me great pleasure to see BMJ India reach this milestone. We’ve covered a long journey ever since we established the first office for the South Asian region in New Delhi. All in all, BMJ India hopes to continue scaling heights in the medical and academic arenas, renewing their faith in the mission and vision of BMJ. :)
