Commemorating World Cancer Day With Namo Gange...

The society and the Indian nation at large is rapidly falling victim to one of the most fatal diseases  known to mankind - ‘Cancer’.

In a bid to raise awareness among people about the dangerous disease, Namo Gange Trust organised ‘3rd Arogya Film Festival 2019’ on February 4, 2019 at Marwah Studio, Film City, Noida.

It is a joint initiative of Namo Gange Trust and International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI). The initiative is supported by
Ministry of AYUSH and Marwah Studios.

February 4 is celebrated as the World Cancer Day internationally each year to raise awareness of cancer
and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. As per World Health Organisation (WHO), because of globalization, modernization and stress, cancer is on rise.

The third edition of Arogya Film Festival is specifically dedicated to Cancer as United Nations has declared 4th February as International Cancer Day.

Research evidence reveals that cancer is responsible for almost one out of six deaths globally. More than 14 million people develop cancer every year, and it is also projected to rise to at least 21 million by 2030.

This is a very threatening as well as crucial matter of thought for all of us. With Namo Gange's belief that there film is powerful enough to communicate stories, stimulate emotions, motivate action, and to reduce the inconsistencies in health sector, the primary purpose of this festival is to spread awareness about cancer treatment through AYUSH via the medium of film and media as a catalyst.

On the occasion, the lamp lighting was done by Acharya Jagdish Maharaj (Founder, Namo Gange Trust),
Ramanand Meena (Deputy Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH), Mrs. Nidhi Agarwal (Founder, Bliss
Foundation), Swami Sehajanand (Founder Chairman of Mahamrityunjaya International Yoga & Astrology Centre), Dr. Sandeep Marwah (Founder of Noida Film City), Suresh Chavhanke (Chairman,
Managing Director of Sudarshan News), and Colonel T P Tyagi (Recipient of National Gallantry Award Vir Chakra).

The movies that were screened and made it to the Top 5 are:

  • Caged (Director and Scriptwriter: Abhas  Kumar),
  • Cancer: An Ill Effect of Alcohol and Tobacco (Director: Shabir Anees and Scriptwriter: Mubashir Ali Zaidi),
  • A Ray of Hope (Director: Raj Dutta and Scriptwriter: Munira Dhamani),
  • Zehar (Director: Abhishek Singh and Scriptwriter: Usha Singh),
  • Life in Smoke (Director and Scriptwriter: Gianluca Fratellini).

Acharya Mukesh Kumar, National President, Namo Gange Trust commented on the occasion,

“Prevention is sure Cure for Cancer. An ounce of Prevention is quart of a Cure, therefore AYUSH system has possibilities through amazing lifestyle therapies, panchkarma detoxification, disciplined lifestyle and good food habits with regular yoga activities and better understanding towards the disease to protect us from the environmental Carcinogens.”

Sandeep Marwah, Founder, Noida Film City in his address extended thanks to Namo Gange Trust for organizing the Film Festival that entirely focused on how social preventive system, alternative system of medicine, and complementary medicine could be a better attempt to fight Cancer at Marwah Studios.

“The latest statistic says that after 20 years, 10 per cent of the Indian population will be suffering from this dangerous disease. The major reason of this disease is polluted air, polluted water and polluted Earth. It is high time we get conscious about the disease, which is going to kill our bodies. Let’s become more aware.

This is a small contribution to Cancer Awareness by Marwah Studios”, he added.

Witnessing participation from more than 100 countries in its third edition, the first edition of the film
festival focused on ‘Stress’ and second on ‘Diabetes’. As many as 37 countries participated in first International Arogya Film Festival while 98 countries participated in the second edition.

On the whole, Namo Gange aspires to create awareness towards some pertinent issues that plague our society each year and this edition of the Arogya Film Festival was also successful in doing so. :)

Style Is A Way Of Life...

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers

~~~
A few hours back, it was very heartening to watch the video in which Karan Johar is seen interviewing a two-time cancer survivor. This is the story of Ruchi Gokhale who is a fashion blogger, aged 20. She is a cancer survivor. Not once, but twice has she grown out of the demonic disease's reach. It was a glorious and an energetic interactive discussion between Karan Johar, as a supportive host and Ruchi Gokhale. Within few sentences into the conversation, Ruchi displayed her zeal for life and vigor for positivity.
Ruchi is a survivor of not one but two different types of cancer. First she encountered Hodgkin's lymphoma. This is also termed as Hodgkin’s Disease in which the cause of cancer is lymphocytes or the white blood cells. The cancer starts spreading within the body from one lymph node group to another thereby increasing the risk to a higher level. The treatment calls for chemotherapy, radiation therapy or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
Ruchi’s surviving mantra to endure her aura among the prying eyes of this judgemental society was to use various kinds of scarves, Kohl and other cosmetics to overshadow her bald head, which was now a  very prominent part of her body. The absence of tresses didn’t impact her zeal and confidence to believe that she was beautiful and lively. She experimented with wigs and then enjoyed taking vivid 'selfies' with her friends. She is planning to create a YouTube channel, focusing on cancer so that the confusions and embarrassing unawareness she faced when she encountered Hodgkin's lymphoma and Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma – two different and serious variants of cancer are mitigated to a certain extent for the masses. The average survival rate for five years with this type of cancer is 85%.
Ruchi was brave enough to emerge out from its grip, completely. But her destiny had another, and more serious form of cancer in store for her, to face. Next, she found herself trapped in non-Hodgkin Lymphoma's tightening grip. This is a form of blood cancer but here the five-year survival rate is less than 70%. Probably Ruchi had decided to fight against anything which came her way and was resolute enough to defeat it.
In Ruchi’s words, 'she had cancer' but 'cancer did not have her' and that was her motivation that kept her going. Ruchi has reinvented herself in a charismatic manner.
Karan Johar offers you to join him and reinvent yourself with #LakmeSchoolOfStyle, the same way as Ruchi did. Once you build up the requisite willpower within you, then probably even severest of risks will avert from you. As per Mr. Johar's opinion, people in today’s era are not only sculpting their personalities but their life, and that too in a big way.
For, style is not just about your wardrobe and accessories et al. Style is about the inherent elegance, grace, self-confidence and a feel good factor of oneself. Ruchi, for all of us, is a great warrior in the real sense. That is the symbol of real power - elucidating a phenomenal faith in life,  which Ruchi persevered to possess throughout her war against cancer, and beyond.
For fame comes not only from being praised and applauded for your effort publically, but also it is that voice from within which motivates you to aspire to turn your dreams into reality and make that one wish come true.
#fame is something beyond any business or brand. It is an iconic drive, a unique movement, a proactive approach to face the future. #fame believes in two things without an iota of doubt. It believes that a piece text is solely going to be replaced by a series of frames in a video in the coming digital era and the talent will have the highest value, be it of any kind.
Since everyone is unique in their own way, each one must live their #fame. This is a single platform that invites every talented individual to join #fame and do what they love most, to live their passion completely. This is the platform where each talented individual is free to seed an idea, enhance their skills, create a community and grow in a consistent manner.
New Cancer Detected In Delhi - Rape
Unbelievable. Isn't it? The more the cases of rape are ridiculed in public, the more cases are coming up in light daily. What has happened to these male's psyche? Why are they so frustrated that they are not able to find another way out? Is there no way to put their sick mentality towards some positive path?
I think Delhi itself is responsible to some extent for calling  this trouble. The way it welcomes any and all to come here and reside anywhere. To start with at any red light, footpath or any isolated open government land not in use or under the bridges or in the pedestrian subways (which people don't want to use either due to avoiding a bit of extra walk or due to these drug addict people who start using it as their business hub).
These people have no particular aim in life. They come to Delhi to get money by hook or by crook. Devoid of any wish to do hard work and earn money they look for easy options like begging, theft, snatching and even robbery. They mostly leave their family in the remote villages which they don't visit often. These people get tempted to the flashy lifestyle of Delhites. They want to ape everything and for that they don't think twice to commit any misdeed. They take out their sick rush of testosterone on children who are easy prey for them.
It is high time to stop all this rubbish at the earliest. We can't let young children and adoloscent girls and boys pay for these criminal and sick minded people's desires. Government must take very strict steps. Corruption and politics has to take a back seat (if can't vanish at a go). All these illegal immigrants to Delhi must be stopped the moment they enter here. Can you belive that police on Delhi patrol (if does it's work seriously) can't trace them the day they start inhabiting a footpath or an underbridge!
If these cells (sick minded people) are let to multiply at the nascent stage, they are bound to become cancerous tumors which certainly are going to first painfully torture the society (as they are doing now) and then vanish it completely. Can we afford to let us suffer from this cancer?
