Going Limerick-y!

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers

~~~
When You Are A Blogger...
And A Creative Soul At Large...
You Have To Be On Your Feet...
To Try Out Something New...
Every Once In A While...
~~~

And So...

The Folks At Project 365...

Never Fail To Present To Me...

Prompts...

Which Prompt Me...

To Expand My Horizons...

Each Time...

~~~
And So...
When They Asked Me To Come Up...
With Something I Would've Never Penned Otherwise...
I Went On To Search...
Search For Something New!
And Then, I Came Across...
A Limerick!
~~~

A Poem Presenting With Rhyme
And Which Follows A Rhythm In Time
Need Not Be What We Call
A True Limerick At All
Like A Lemon, The Cousin Of Lime.

~~~
Of Course I've Been Doing Poetry...
For Quite Some Time Now...
Four - Line Stanzas With abab Or aaaa Rhyme...
Haikus...
Acrostics... (Expanding The Letters Of A Word) :)
~~~

This Time Around...

I Set Out To Try My Hand At Limericks...

A Classic Limerick Is Also A Popular Nursery Rhyme, You See...

~~~
There Was Once, A Guy Named Rick
Who Went To Try His Hand At Limerick
What He Penned Was Pretty Decent
Even Though His Effort Was Quite Recent
An Earnest Attempt There, Did The Trick!
~~~

And So, I've Been Also Given A Picture Prompt To Weave My Limerick Around...

Well, Of Course, The Picture Prompt Was Not Binding...

But, As I Say...

I Like To Take The Notch Higher... :D

~~~
So, Here's The Picture...
And Here's My Limerick...
Because, When You Attempt To Rhyme
It's When Concentration Is The Prime
And, When You're On An Island As Aesthetic
It's When You Turn Into An Ascetic
Thus Channeling Expressions Which Pleasantly Chime...
~~~

Okay, I guess, it was not as humorous, rather reflective...

Waiting to hear from you - if I should go further - go even more Limerick-y? :D

This post is a part of the WordPress Daily Prompts : 365 Writing Prompts program where the aim is to post at least one post a day based on the day's prompt.

The Prompt for June 23 was a 'Free Prompt' provided to all of us, Guest Authors.

The Prompt is, Island Of Misfit Posts - 'We all have something we’d like to write about, but that
doesn’t really “fit” our blog. Write it anyway.'

This is my Fourteenth Post as a guest author to Project 365 : We Post Daily!

  1. To be honest, I wasn't very sure how the limerick was going to turn out. Especially since I couldn't think limerick-y about the image. But you've once again done it :)
