Progressive Dining At The Reset...

The Reset Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

The food scene in India and especially in the capital city Delhi is undergoing a sea change. The hospitality industry has been welcoming many new establishments under its umbrella, lately.

Being in the hospitality industry is a herculean task, for it calls for unprecedented uniqueness, stellar food (in terms of preparation, presentation, and variety) and unmatched service.

Quite recently, I paid a visit to a new entrant on the food scene in Rohini that goes by the name The Reset. To my surprise, it fared quite well on all the above-stated parameters, and even with an addition of the challenge of it catering to the Vegetarian's palate, I am sure that it would go places.

The Reset has been established under the ownership of Monty Khurana and Ankit Jain and is situated right opposite M2K Cinemas Rohini. It is spread across two levels - the fourth floor and a terrace, that also has a high-rise मचान.

The terrace also has The Godfather making its presence known alongside Bollywood songs that play subtly in the background.

The outlet has been beautifully done in a fine-dine fashion and sports an elegant look all in all.

The Reset has a lot to offer to its patrons, finely curated in a multi-cuisine fashion. Even otherwise, being constrained by the fact that The Reset offers vegetarian fare, it has a considerable amount of variety to offer, not forgetting to mention that they do serve Hukkah, which is the norm, as it seems to be definite crowd-pullers these days. I kept my distance from it, though, being a teetotaler.

Here's what all we relished at a Blogger's Luncheon held at The Reset...

Shakes:

  • Chocolate Shake with Strawberries

  • Oreo Cookies and Cream

Both these had a beautiful presentation and were thick, creamy shakes that were smooth on the palate.

Soups:

  • Frothy Wild Mushroom Soup served with garlic bread and had many chunks of button mushrooms in a thick broth.

  • Sichuan-style Green Noodles Soup which was a flavorful burst of veggies and noodles on the palate.

Salad:

This one was The Reset's take on the same and was served in an upside down umbrella, that reminded me of the quirky presentation at "DR∀M∀".

Appetizers:

  • Trio Paneer Tikka, again with a refreshing presentation, paralleled the one I had at Indus Flavour.

  • Mushroom Galauti Kebab, which was a classic dish done right with melt-in-mouth preparation.

  • Dry Dates and Cheese Spinach was served in the form of cigar rolls and had noticeable spinach leaves stuffed into it.

  • English Calzone had a platter-like presentation because it was grand in its portion size and had an appreciable amount of cheese and veggies.

Main Course:

  • Mushroom Stroganoff has to be a star preparation. Paired with fried rice, it was flavorful on the palate.

  • Pan Fried Noodles were all about an authentic dish done right.

  • Spinach Kofta with Saag Curry and सात धान की रोटी wherein the curry was on the higher side of the spice quotient while the bread and the Kofta were nicely prepared.

  • Kashmiri Pulao is another favorite. Long-grain rice with the goodness of saffron and assorted nuts, which was light on the palate, cooked in minimal oil.

Desserts:

  • Blueberry and Cheese Crumble
  • Chocolate Mousse

Both of these were excellently prepared, as well as presented, and form for a must-try here at The Reset.

I had a fantastic time at The Reset, and given the fact that it is a relatively new establishment when it comes to the hospitality sector, I hope they keep up the good work and earn an applause from their patrons in the coming future. :)

Of Authentic Lebanese Fare At Zizo...

Zizo Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

Delhi has gradually nurtured a platform for appreciation of myriad cuisines from various parts of the globe. It is not just the regional cuisines that we love to explore as people, but with the gradual passage of time, we've incorporated and applauded the love for food coming from a global perspective.

One such cuisine that has gradually made way and suited itself to the Indian palate here in Delhi, is that of the Mediterranean, in particular that of Lebanon. When it comes to Lebanese Cuisine, the name that pops up first in mind is that of Zizo.

Zizo is the brand in the food and hospitality sector here in the capital city that is spear-heading the reach of Lebanon and its feel good cuisine. Lebanon might be a small country, but its food packs a big punch for sure. My first tryst with Lebanese Pita Bread, however, was at Pita Pit last month.

My visit to Zizo came about as a consequence of the launch of their newest outlet in Noida's Mall of India. Located on the third floor in the mall, it is a convenient find, visually as its large pink branding proclaims its arrival in the food scene in the NCR.

The outlet is quite a spacious one with a live kitchen in a glass enclosure and seating for seventy people at maximum. Zizo's beetle in their logo, according to me, marks a distinctive style in their food that has been creating a buzz, lately. :)

The best of Zizo was served to Food Bloggers, courtesy Chef Danny Elsoury, who is spear-heading their kitchen gracefully. It was a delight to move beyond the cliche Hummus and Mezze and discover authentic Lebanese Cuisine. It was as if Lebanon had been emulated in terms of its food thanks to Danny who himself hails from Lebanon.

Here's what Lebanon has to offer at Zizo, in the heart of Delhi...

Mocktails:

  • Mulberry Lemonade

  • Hand-Pressed Mint Lemonade

Salad:

  • Fattoush Salad, which was a refreshing take with herbs, sumac and pomegranate vinaigrette.

Cold Mezze:

  • Veg Mezze Platter comprising of Labneh beltoum, muhammara, hummus (dip made of blended chickpeas, sesame tahini, lemon juice, and garlic) and tabbouli (minced/chopped parsley salad with burghul (cracked wheat), tomatoes, onions, and mint), served with accompanying Lebanese Pita breads.

  • Trio Hummus, which was hummus presented in three variants - traditional, basil, and spicy, and had fresh Pita Bread to go along with.

Starters:

  • Crispy Cheese Cigars, with some chili dip to spice up the palate.

  • Batata Harra, literally spicy potatoes, were crisp to taste.

  • Falafel Basket, consisting of deep-fried patties made of ground chickpeas, served with greens, dip and pickled radish.

  • Mutton Kibbi, which was essentially finely minced juicy mutton mixed with bulgur (cracked wheat) that was served in the form of fried balls.

Main Course:

  • Zaatar Man'oushe

  • Kafta & Cheese Man'oushe

  • Moroccan Chicken Tajine, served in a graceful dome like vessel and had the most finely cooked chicken.

Dessert:

  • Lady's Arm (Znoud el Sett) was the most fitting conclusion to an authentic meal at Zizo, and was essentially served as a roll pastry filled with creamy custard and the most wonderful rose and sugar syrup.

  • Cheese Knefeh was a Lebanese sweet delight with a pleasant combination of pastry served with sugar syrup, prepared with rice vermicelli, butter, and pistachios.

Shakes and Coffee:

  • Belgium Chocolate Shake
  • Mocha Shake, served with powered cocoa garnish.
  • Turkish Coffee served with a walnut brownie slice.

All in all, my experience with Lebanese Cuisine as presented by Zizo and Chef Danny has been the most pleasant one and I would endorse Zizo to anyone who wishes to experience Lebanon in Delhi, having experienced their food and service, first-hand. :)
