An Experience At Meal-O-Drama...

Meal-O-Drama Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

Meal-O-Drama is the newest entrant on the F&B scene in the ever-so-dynamic Rajouri Garden. I happened to plan a visit to explore all that Meal-O-Drama has to offer.

Meal-O-Drama is located right above Band Baaja Baarat, which is another beautiful outlet, and to which I had been in the past.

Meal-O-Drama has been designed in an aesthetic manner with wall mannequins, plush, spacious seating of close to 100 pax, and vibrant food quotes along the stairway. I was welcomed with a courteous smile and escorted to the premises on the second floor.

It comes across as a good option for an evening with family or friends alike, with popular English songs playing in the background. Their service is attentive and the food is quick enough in being presented to the table.

They have a menu designed in the form of an art palette, spanning multiple cuisines and thus offer a good amount of variety though they are still working out which of the dishes appeal more to the patrons' tastes and thus plan to revamp the menu to do away with the less-appealing dishes in order to avoid wastage of food or less popular ingredients at the end of the day.

Here are the dishes I would recommend to try, the next time you plan a visit to Meal-O-Drama.

Beverages:

Mocktails:

Grape Spritzer was a concoction of grape juice, fresh fruit chunks, and soda that imparted a flavor resembling the good old Poppins. This is a must-have when at Meal-O-Drama.

Fruity Power was a drink that had a blended fruit base comprising of mango, pineapple, banana, and passion fruit served with a citrus slice on the side.

Virgin Mary had the good old spice thanks to Tobasco, pepper, and a salt rim.

Shakes:

Kit Kat Shake was topped with cream, sprinkles, and a Kit Kat on top.

Oreo Shake comprised of chocolate sauce, whipped cream, sprinkles, and an Oreo on top.

Salad:

Greek Tuscan Salad consisted of veggies served in a crouton basket sprinkled with parmesan cheese and tossed in rosemary herb oil.

Soups:

Tomato Andalusse was the good old Cream of Tomato served with a Crostini on the side.

Budhapest was Meal-O-Drama's take on Cream of Chicken that had a liberal number of chunks of chicken served with a Crostini on the side.

Appetizers:

Paan Ki Seekh is Meal-O-Drama's signature dish and is prepared using a Chef's special recipe. Both the presentation and preparation are brilliant and you won't find such a Paan based dish in most restaurants.

Firangi Mushroom is another signature dish with melted cheese and minced veggies stuffed between two button mushrooms.

Lahori Fish was sole fish cooked in clay oven and was mildly spiced.

Main Course:

Butter Chicken was the classic Indian preparation.

Prawns in Lemon Coriander Sauce was a preparation from Oriental Cuisine.

Mutton Rogan Josh was another classic curry cut lamb preparation.

Olive Naan had tiny chunks of olive all over.

Paratdar Parantha was Meal-O-Drama's take on Lachcha Parantha with a liberal topping of sesame seeds.

California Club Pizza was a double layer thin crust cheese burst pizza topped with chicken chunks.

BBQ Cottage Strips Quesadillas were tortilla wraps stuffed with cottage cheese strips layered with barbecue sauce served with french fries on the side.

Dessert:

Brownie with Gulab Jamun formed for a fitting conclusion to a well-done meal.

The place has been in operation since the past forty days and is thus in the nascent stage, though I believe that if they keep going at this pace, they will gradually make a mark with their positive vibe and good food. :)

Taफree On My Mind...

Tafree Cafe and Terrace Bar Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

Taफree is the newest entrant on the food scene in Connaught Place. It was thus a pleasant surprise when an invite for an Exclusive Preview Lunch was extended to me.

The outlet has quite a strategic location in the heart of Delhi. Located in F Block, it is the first outlet you spot when you exit from Gate No. 5 of Rajiv Chowk Metro Station. I say it is the first outlet you spot because its logo is done in vibrant orange and pink hues.

Taफree is essentially a Terrace Cafe situated on the second floor and also sports a bar. The terrace has a hawk's eye view of the Indian Tricolor right before one's eyes, though the outdoor area is a smoking zone.

The restaurant itself is vibrantly done with plush seating and eye-catching wall graffiti and the preparation as well as the presentation of dishes scores a point in their kitty.

Here's what all was served at the Media Preview:

Appetizers:

Palak Patta Chaat, which was just as good as the one savored at House Of Commons. Crisp and flavorful with curd and Sev.

Taफree Veg Platter was a vegetarian's delight with an assortment of Cheese, Mushroom, Corn, and Potato preparations.

Pesto Chicken was nicely done with the Pesto paste layering on chicken chunks.

Falafel, which is an authentic Lebanese preparation.

Paneer Tikka was a classic appetizer well prepared at Taफree.

Moroccan Chicken Satay, slightly spiced, though well prepared.

Mutton Gilafi Seekh Kebab was served with a likable creamy texture.

Prawn Masala and Chilly Garlic Prawn, both dishes were prepared and presented well.

Zig Zag Fish was served on skewers, crispy and golden brown. The tartar sauce also went well along with.

Chicken Kaali Mirch, wherein the combination of pepper and chicken cannot possibly go wrong.

Aaloo Nazakat was plated beautifully, though had to feast on this one solely through its aesthetics.

Mocktails / Shakes:

Fakeer, with a fantastic presentation of a fuming liquid nitrogen tumbler, and the refreshing taste of Khus and Pineapple.

Kit Kat Shake, with the creaminess of chocolate and gooey chocolate syrup, it was served with a Kit Kat on the side.

Cold Coffee, with cocoa powder on top, and the Indian Flag in sight on Republic Day's eve, what more could you ask for?

Don't Know was a fantastic dual-toned, watermelon based mocktail, not to mention its name was amazing enough.

Snicker Shake, again presented in a tumbler of fuming liquid nitrogen.

Main Course:

  • Mutton Laal Maas
  • Veg Biryani
  • Daal Makhni
  • Handi Chicken
  • Ajwain Parantha
  • Chilly Paneer
  • Hakka Noodles

Desserts:

  • Blueberry Cheesecake
  • Tiramisu

A point that is a positive in my critique is that they have separate zones (indoor and outdoor) for patrons who are teetotalers or otherwise, however the utilization depends on patrons themselves.

Having been one of the few bloggers to be Taफree's guest, I can vouch that this place is going to go places solely on the basis of its food itself. Wishing them success for the same. :)
