The Junction, located right opposite Aurobindo Market, is a fantastic place to be if you're looking for a melange of good food from a variety of cuisines and a refreshingly great ambiance. My visit to The Junction was within the first ten days of its opening and I was delighted to know that it is not just one restaurant but an amalgamation of many, and the entire package of this gastronomic delight has been named The Junction.
It is a spacious place done aesthetically well, basically working like a charm with its minimalist chic, floral decor, wall graffiti and fairy lights and lanterns perched on trees. A variety of cuisines is up for offer at The Junction, just so that it becomes a one-stop eatery presenting something for everyone.
Apart from the decor and food, another good thing is their attentive service, though The Junction is a brand new place and it will be interesting to see if they're able to keep up the good work once the crowd starts coming in. And, I say crowd because this open-air setting that The Junction flaunts is perfect for parties and group gatherings.
Here's what all we had on our visit to The Junction...
Appetizers:
Greek Pizza which was loaded with olives, mushroom, bell peppers and melted cheese.
Mushroom Galouti was melt-in-mouth, true to the characteristic preparation.
Chicken Satay, again a classic preparation which was done right.
Chicken Shish Taouk had a unique lemony flavor and Falafel Hummus reminded me of my time at Zizo, which has brought Lebanese cuisine to India.
Mutton Seekh were prepared well.
Chicken Tender was presented in a Pizzeria basket and had strips of boneless chicken fried to lend the perfect crispiness.
Thai Spring Rolls are another classic prepared well enough.
Masala Peanuts
Mocktails:
Virgin Mojito
Blue Lagoon
Virgin Pina Colada
Virgin Mary
Main Course:
Grilled Lemon Fish was great and presented along with veggies and fried rice.
Mixed Seafood Basket consisted of fish and calamari.
Dessert:
Brownies presented as cube-sized bites with chocolate syrup and sugar dusted on top.
The Junction comes across as a breath of fresh air in the food and hospitality industry as it provides a rejuvenated outlook on the concept of a restaurant itself. I had a good time at The Junction and would be looking forward to a visit whenever I'm in Hauz Khas next. :)
