Cafe Southall is the newest entrant on the food scene in Janpath and I am told it is what has replaced Hybrid, Janpath. My visit to Southall came about as a consequence of an exhausting shopping spree and an invite to a Blogger's Table.
The outlet itself has been designed ingeniously and is one of the most spacious ones that I've been to, in recent times. Cafe Southall combines two favorites - music and food - thus earning a point from me in their kitty. Being Priyank Sukhija's brainchild, I had expected Cafe Southall to score with me as a package, which it did.
The service was spot-on to a certain extent, though a couple of misses could be overlooked thanks to the aesthetically presented and fantastic tasting food and beverages. The variety here is overwhelming and comes an equal or close second to the one I had witnessed at World Art Dining. :)
The spread laid out was meant to resemble a दावत-ए-Blogggers and here's what all was relished at the same.
Salad:
Caesar Salad (Chicken) with Balsamic Dressing
Appetizers:
Rajma Galouti Mini Sliders would be my star recommendation here at Southall. The vibrant hues of the sliders itself seem inviting.
Corn and Fennel Tikkis
Multani Paneer Tikka
Malai Murgh Tikka
Rogan Josh Arancini with Salsa Verde
Pesto Fish Tikka is a must-try when at Cafe Southall, hands-down.
Amritsari Fish Tikka
Andhra Style Prawn 65, whose presentation was enhanced by the presence of micro-greens and these were prepared well.
Assorted Bruschetta
Mix Veg Dimsums
Chicken Dimsums
Goan Prawn Fettuccine
Mocktails, all of which were a visual treat, and held on to their characteristic flavors:
Green Apple and Chilli Slush
Orange and Strawberry Slush
Pomegranate and Basil Cooler
Virgin Mary
Main Course, served with an accompaniment of assorted Indian Breads:
Dal Makhni
Kadhai Paneer
Methi Malai Mushroom
Rogan Josh
Butter Chicken
Desserts, all of which were a slice of seventh heaven and were a treat for the eyes:
Hot Chocolate Sundae
Oreo Vanilla Ice Cream
Blueberry Cheesecake
Cafe Southall is the place to go if you're looking for a spacious, well-lit space for chilling with friends or celebrating with family, that couples good food with great music, the latest upcoming stint being by none other than Bally Sagoo. :)
