#PowerfulBacking With American Express...

A recent global study commissioned by American Express showed that more than half of people today are living Hybrid Lives, with personal and work life deeply intertwined. The study, conducted in eight markets including India, others being Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States also revealed that two in three people feel they can achieve more because of this work-life integration.

The way people work and live has transformed - there is greater interconnectedness in both personal and work life, as well as real and virtual interactions. This blended, hybrid lifestyle is the new norm across the world, and India is no exception.

'Hybrid Life' as identified in American Express’ 'Live Life' survey is characterized by increasing interconnectedness between work and personal life, as well as real and virtual interactions. It results in deeper work-life integration enabled by technology, described by AmEx as #AmExLife.

American Express, backed by the insights of the study, has thus launched its new 360° brand marketing campaign in India, aptly called “Powerful Backing of American Express: Don’t Live Life / Don’t Do Business Without It” - to reflect new-age highly-integrated lifestyles and the fact that American Express supports its customers, enabling them to thrive in life and in business.

Speaking about the launch, Manoj Adlakha, CEO – American Express Banking Corp., India, said,

This is the first time we’re introducing a campaign that speaks to all of the customer segments we serve, with a single, overarching message: American Express has your back, in life and in work. Relationships are core to who we are. Since our inception, we’ve put our customers at the center of everything we do. The campaign reinforces the enduring relationships we have with our customers and how we support them in ways big and small.

Elaborating on the insights that powered the global brand strategy, Manoj added, “The new brand platform is a response to the fact that our customers are living diverse and layered lives. Our new campaign focuses on the powerful backing that we provide our customers and partners, enabling them to navigate this blended lifestyle.”

I recently had a chance to attend an event where AmEx's new brand campaign was presented. showcasing the dual passion-points of Indian millennials - technology and travel - that power the prominently emerging hybrid lifestyle in the 'Live Life' study.

There was an 'AR-VR' setup (or demo zone) featuring innovative use of virtual-augmented reality to present a  real-life simulation of diverse experiences such as an adrenaline-charged roller-coaster ride, the thrill of sky-diving, watching the Northern Lights and seeing penguins in the glaciers of Antarctica to emphasize on the thrill of #VirtualMeetsReal.

Such brand activations have been set up by AmEx for an experience by the masses in DLF Mall of India, Noida and Cyber Hub, Gurgaon.

Advertising is featured on a cross-section of platforms with a focus on communications channels that are at the intersection of life and work. These include print, mobile and outdoor platforms, as well as digital and social media.

The advertising and marketing elements include a heavy focus on digital content, online video, high-impact out-of-home advertising and social influencer engagement. The campaign is designed to meet people in the places where life and business intersect, both online and offline. Whether traveling, going to work, heading out to have fun, engaging with digital content or connecting on social media, Indians will be continuously reminded - American Express has got their back.

With the new brand platform, American Express is drawing on its heritage of service, security and trust and modernizing many elements of its brand iconography, including a modern articulation of a famous tagline, refreshing its Blue Box logo and visual identity and introducing a hand-drawn version of its famous card design that features its customers at the center.

The work was created by mcgarrybowen, Pentagram, Ogilvy, Mindshare and Digitas. The advertising was directed by renowned director Lance Accord, and the photography was shot by award-winning photographer Matthieu Young.

Sharing details on how the global campaign was adapted for Indian audiences, Manoj added,

Our local agency partners at Ogilvy and Mindshare have been instrumental in trans-creating the global campaign to make it relevant for the Indian market. They have successfully integrated nuances that our customers and prospects can relate to. We are confident that this approach will resonate with our audience.

Ruchi Mathur, Sr. Vice President, North & East India at Mindshare said,

For today’s audiences with hybrid lives and complex paths to purchase, we leveraged relevant media & data intelligence to decode the mindset, media consumption behaviors, and connected journeys to deliver the communication to each audience segment, in the right context through the right medium. Basis these findings, we developed an integrated brand and demand focused media strategy that will keep the audiences engaged throughout the brand funnel, finally leading them towards becoming American Express members.

Here's what celebrity ambassador Yami Gautam had to say about #PowerfulBacking...

The new brand platform aims to go from belonging i.e. 'the benefit of being part of an exclusive club' to backing i.e. 'the benefit of being part of a reciprocal relationship', with the cultural insight being the following.

I am sure that American Express' brand philosophy will surely make #PowerfulBacking popular among the masses.

Sound Engineering The Jabra Elite Way!

On the occasion of World Music Day (June 21), Jabra - part of the GN Group -  leading developer and manufacturer of communications and sound solutions - aptly expanded its Elite franchise, a family of headphones and earbuds engineered for superior sound to provide the best - combined voice and music experience.

Building on the brand philosophy of using sound to transform lives, Jabra aims to create products that rely on innovation and design to enhance productivity and efficiency. Driven by ambition and the inspiration and desire to change, Jabra builds on its understanding of human hearing capabilities to 'Engineer For Purpose'.

The GN Group has an illustrious history of 149 years to its credit, making Jabra one of the most reliable brands in its field of work. Jabra is the only company on the face of the globe to manufacture headphones, headsets, and hearing aids for people of all ages.

While the consumer-grade and professional-grade products feature under the umbrella of GN Audio, it is the Resound wing that caters to medical-grade products. What's more is that both the factions have the same R&D to ensure seamlessness and sync.

The Elite Lineup has been designed for life-on-the-go and has two form factors to provide the best music at the best cost.

  • True Wireless
  • Neckband & Headset

Dr. Amitesh Punhani was quick to introduce the Elite franchise being engineered to meet the needs of users looking not only for outstanding music quality but also for strong voice capability, whether they’re making calls or increasingly using voice assistants such as Alexa, Siri or Google Now.

Adding to that Mr. Ankit from the consumer business division remarked that with the Elite family of products, headphone users no longer have to make a choice between great music headphones or a headset designed for voice and calls, now they can have both with whichever Elite product they choose.

Jabra’s research shows that the daily usage of headphones by frequent users focuses on calls (58% of users each day), music (53%) and voice control (35%). These findings were the motivation to roll-out the new products in India.

Jabra is showcasing five new products:

  • Elite 65e neckband wireless earbuds provide two levels of noise cancellation including Jabra’s leading Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) solution.
  • Elite 45e for users who want the best-combined voice and music experience in a headset with a discreet design and a great fit.
  • Elite 25e are full mobility on-the-go headphones that allow for seamlessly switching between calls and music throughout the day for optimal effectiveness and productivity – all of this for an accessible price point.
  • Elite 65t is a third generation true wireless earbud aimed at those who want the best voice and music experience without wires.
  • Elite Active 65t for those who want the features of the Elite 65t, while being able to use the earbuds in a sports or training setting.

Drawing on the GN Group’s long-standing audio, headset, and hearing aid expertise, each new Elite product contains unique microphone configurations to ensure users will always be heard, whether while speaking to Alexa or an acquaintance or indoors or out on the street. In addition, the companion Jabra Sound+ app allows personalization of music to personal taste and liking.

In addition to the best-in-class voice and music experience, the new Elite products also come with the security of a two-year warranty against dust and water ingress (two years for the Elite Active 65t also including sweat ingress).

While users will experience the great voice and music experience that Elite products offer, they will also be able to choose the wearing style that suits them best. The Elite family includes true wireless and soft neckband variants with the suffix letter signifying the styles clearly using ‘e’ for earbud and ‘t’ for true wireless.

Jabra's Elite 65e for instance, as a case in point, has been designed as neckband wireless earbuds are engineered for best-in-class wireless calls and music and provide two levels of noise cancellation including Jabra’s leading Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) solution, challenging existing solutions in the market.

On top, the Jabra Elite 65e offers incredible conversation quality with three-microphone technology that creates a noise-blocking zone – making sure your voice is conveyed with crystal-clear clarity.

The first level consists of the development and design of the earbuds and Jabra EarGels™. The optimal engineering of the mechanical fit and the design of the oval earbuds – developed by Jabra to ensure a better fit in the ear canal – in combination with the ear gels for a perfect grip, provide an optimal seal for the passive noise cancellation of ambient sounds.

The second level is the more known technology of Active Noise Cancellation that digitally removes additional noise levels. Having included ANC in professional headsets for years, Jabra now brings leading business grade ANC to consumers – providing superior total noise cancellation to the wider audience.

Building on products designed for the mass premium segment, Jabra's products are also the first ones to be Alexa certified in India, given the fact that they support leading voice assistants of the likes of Siri, Google Now, and Amazon Alexa itself.

The premium colors schemes across the Elite range is also a pointer to the fact that Jabra provides a touch of elegance backed by a style sense in their products.

Jabra Elite Series is available in Amazon, Croma and Jabra authorized retailers.

On the whole, the Jabra Elite series comes across as a promising one for a revolution in the consumer-grade audio industry. :)

Re-hydrate, Replenish, Recharge As Coca-Cola's Motto!

Coca-Cola is one of India's leading beverage companies that has just recently tapped into new avenues of Enhanced Hydration and Nutritious Dilutables by introducing Aquarius GLUCOCHARGE and Minute Maid Vitingo into the beverage industry in line with their endeavor to provide a spectrum of consumer-centric beverage choices along with functional benefits made available across various segments of consumers.

Aquarius GLUCOCHARGE, as the name suggests, is packed with Glucose, essential Minerals (Potassium, Sodium, Calcium) and fruit juice. It has been developed exclusively for Indian consumers who toil in the heat which in turn creates a need for instant rehydration to overcome bodily exhaustion.  This non-carbonated, low sugar beverage with fruit juice is priced at a nifty value of INR 10 for a 200ml serving.

On the other hand, Minute Maid Vitingo has a special formulation focused on addressing micronutrient deficiency and malnutrition in India. Fortified with Iron, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Zinc, Folic Acid, Vitamin B2 and Vitamin B12, it is available in single serving sachets of 18gm priced at INR 5. Regular consumption of Vitingo has been clinically tested to significantly reduce Iron deficiency, Anaemia and Vitamin C deficiency among children.

Citing their winning formula as based on the four pillars of being low-calorie and affordable, while providing great taste brought to the table in safe packaging, Mr. Ishteyaque Amjad, Vice President, Public Affairs and Communication, Coca-Cola India and South West Asia was delighted to launch both the products.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. T. Krishnakumar, President, Coca-Cola India, and South West Asia, said

“In time for the peak summer, the launch of Aquarius GLUCOCHARGE and Minute Maid Vitingo marks our entry into the space of Re-hydrate, Replenish and Recharge. These enhanced and nutritious beverage options have been developed specifically for the Indian consumers to suit their needs of enhanced and nutritious hydration.

The company is embarking on a program of incubation to develop a strong portfolio of choices for the Indian consumer. This would help the Coca-Cola system to build itself a consumer-centric portfolio for the future. To build a higher brand recall and awareness for the beverage, the company will conduct extensive sampling across the country.

We have been actively focusing on our strategy to offer consumers a wide variety of choices as per their preferences and going ahead, incubating new products and scaling it up through our system would be key to our success.

While Minute Maid Vitingo aims to be a part of the solution to malnutrition that the country is solving for, we are equally committed to making Aquarius GLUCOCHARGE a mass distributed brand in next eight months. Our reshaped portfolio will further accelerate the growth momentum and help us deliver enhanced business results.”

The strategic extension of the portfolio is in-line with Coca-Cola’s journey towards being a Total Beverage Company, which is centered on building an increasingly diverse consumer-centric portfolio of brands attuned to unique consumer preferences. The launch of new products also adds another milestone to the company’s focus on ‘fruit circular economy' enabling farmers to increase their yield, source pulp and launch fruit-based products.

Of Work-Life Balance With SHEROES...

What?
SHEROES Summit 2016

When?
Wednesday, August 10

Where?
Eros Hotel, Nehru Place

It was that time of the year, when I was led to the insightful and inspiring SHEROES Summit for the second time, after my association with them in 2014.

Delhi traffic made sure I did not arrive before the Summit began, all roads led to the SHEROES Summit that day! :) Sairee took to the stage to speak about the conception of SHEROES and how it all began.

The good thing was that I arrived some time after the Keynote Session with Nithya Shanti had begun. His session made for a perfect start to the day and I was exclaiming 'How Wonderful!' by the time it ended. He spoke to a hall full of people early morning 10 'o' clock.

Some pearls of Wisdom (that resides in the gap between Stimulus and Response) from his interaction included:

  • 3-point agenda: Show Up, Share Your Gifts, Synergize
  • Luck = Preparation + Opportunity
  • Develop the art of being present
  • Vocalize, Visualize, Emotionalize, Actualize, Express Gratitude
  • SW SW SW SW - Some Will, Some Won't, So What? Someone's Waiting! :)
  • Don't be afraid to ASK
  • Job is a Chore (Hands), Career is a Climb (Hands + Head), Calling is the vision (Hands + Head + Heart)
  • MIND is essentially Mostly Inaccurate Neural Drama

The second session was a CXO Panel moderated by Syna Dehnugara, comprising the following panelists:

  • Nipun Singhal - Director, Lloyd Electric and Engineering
  • Pankaj Bansal - Co-founder and CEO, PeopleStrong
  • Shilpa Sharma - Co-founder, Jaypore
  • Radhika Ghai Agarwal - Co-founder and Chief Business Officer, Shopclues

A simple thought highlighted how what one thinks, knows, or believes is of little consequence as what one does, matters.

Naina Kidwai was quoted on the dais as thus:

"Other than the crystal balls of family and home, there is a third ball though that we, as perennial jugglers, forget - that third ball is 'me time'. I treat this as a rubber ball - allow it to drop and bounce back when I can afford to attend it."

The three things not to do in an e-comm business or any business for that matter were discussed:

  1. Create a deliverable that caters to some need.
  2. Make sure that the service being promised is differentiated.
  3. Passion is overrated and dynamic in nature.

The third session focused on Future Of Work, moderated by Rituparna Chatterjee and had the following panelists:

  • Prukalpa Sankar - Co-founder, SocialCops
  • Kashyap Deorah - Entrepreneur and Investor
  • Bee Rowlatt - Writer and Journalist
  • Varun Khaitan - Co-founder, UrbanClap

Flexible working is a lifeline, a progressive concept. Bee admitted that she would've gone crazy without it. It is also true however that the present day generation has seen flexible working, not past rigidness in routine that inculcated discipline.

Also highlighted was the fact that technology is catalyst to changing work environment while also applauding the fact that we had gradually accustomed ourselves to celebrating working parenthood.

Post-lunch it was about sparkling milestones and spiraling meltdowns, with Dare To Be by Rinku Paul, which familiarized readers with the stories of success and failure of fourteen women, one of whom was SHEROES founder, Sairee Chahal.

Other ladies featuring in the series included Zumba instructor Sucheta Pal and stand-up comedian Neeti Palta.

According to Rinku, being an entrepreneur is tough, woman entrepreneur tougher, young entrepreneur tougher still.

Two budding women entrepreneurs took to the stage, after Rinku to 'lightning-pitch' their ideas within a strict time frame of five minutes, with proper time keeping.

  • Smita Mishra of PoolWallet, with the concept of a P2P Group Payment Social Network
  • Neha Upadhyay of Gunaa Organics, reaching out to organic farmers of difficult terrains

One of the women who had dared to be in real-life set the room reverberating with cheers of SHEROES! at the time she arrived on stage. Ex-Indian Woman Cricketer Anjum Chopra was in our midst!

Delivering a power-packed oration, tracing her roots and training period, she was quick to comment on gender bias - à¤•ुछ तो लोग कहेंगे, लोगों का काम है कहना!

Ruchi Phool's Laughter Yoga refreshed the sleepy heads post-lunch, setting the ambiance on a lighter note.

Shaili Chopra and Anu S Choudhary spoke about their ventures - SheThePeople TV and Good Girls Show.

The Summit was drawn to a fitting conclusion with awesome comedy by stand-up artiste, Sanjay Rajoura. I had tears of joy in my eyes reacting to his hilarious punches!

Until next time, when SHEROES take charge! :)

What's All This 'Tamasha' About?

Just yesterday, while browsing through the myriad channels on television and being bored by News, enough to switch over to the Movies, I landed on &Pictures, aiming to publicize a premier by its HD twin, proclaiming thus - &picturesHD – India’s premium mass Hindi movie channel keeping its promise of #HDfirst will premiere ‘Tamasha’ on Saturday, 30th April at 8 PM.

At the back of my mind, it occurred to me that we had made a beeline for the multiplex when Tamasha had released, partly because I was intrigued by its upbeat trailer and partly motivated by the sea of positive reviews surrounding it.

The 'Dream Film Trinity' so as to say, comprised of the impeccable direction of Imtiaz Ali,  and brilliant portrayals by heartthrobs Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor had come together to conceptualize and present to us, another stellar masterpiece - Tamasha.

The choice of story line, the essence of which, seemed to connect, is what made me decide that we had to book our tickets to watch this one on the 70mm screen.

A person who seemed vexed by the socially bounding limitations of conducting oneself and the notion of conforming to which, seemed to distress him. Battling the loss of self as opposed to the 'baffling yet befitting' social norms is a concept that I buy, and thus, I was made to identify with the 'Tamasha' that our society has made out of itself, nowadays too.

Now that the film is all set to make an appearance before Indian audiences yet again next week, I was prompted to give my readers some reasons to tune into &Pictures HD on a relaxing Saturday night, at prime time! :)

What’s All This ‘Tamasha’ About? :)

 ~~~
At Constant War With The 9-to-5 Monotony
Imtiaz Ali had very candidly revealed once that the concept of the film comes from the fact that the talent in most people is not tapped to their full potential if they fail to discover and pursue the life-path that suits them best. One such individual is Ved (whose character has been enacted by Ranbir Kapoor), who is trapped in a world which is not suited to him. He brings to celluloid, an inner fight between acceptance of societal norms and pursuing one’s passion. We relate to his dreariness, that which we sometimes conveniently refer to as ‘schedule’.
Travel Makes The World Go Round!
Imtiaz’s films are known to revolve and revel around the fact that travel and exploration can be a game changer in one’s life. And, Tamasha is no different. It is interesting to see how the movie explores new countries centered around love as the core theme coupled with many twists and turns. The exotic locations of Corsica, Tokyo, Delhi, Shimla and Kolkata blend into the movie beautifully and give the movie a myriad-hued palette.
Mona Darling Brings Don Along!
The characters in the movie come alive and how! Deepika as Mona Darling and Ranbir as Don are very fresh to watch and are the pulse of the movie. The bohemian, starry eyed Don and the fashionable Mona Darling are no less than a treat to witness. Together, they set out to explore the picturesque French island with the dreaded yet exciting star signifying Terms and Conditions Applied of course!
Emulating Soul With A Funky Undertone
When the Oscar winning composer A R Rahman agrees to curate the music for the film, it is like the cherry to the cake. Irshad Kamil's lyrics touch the soul and add a new dimension to the story. From ‘Matargashti’ to ‘Heer Toh Badi Sad Hai’, the songs evoke a series of emotions in the audience’s hearts. The music, accompanied by its amazing visuals has definitely been enacted to impress.
Bollywood’s Dream Team…
One cannot help but stand amazed at the brilliant chemistry between Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Even apart from that, Tamasha’s Ved comes across as Ranbir breakthrough performance in a long time. Deepika’s impeccable portrayal and her ability to make us fall in love with Tara from Tamasha is once again applauded. Add to it, Imtiaz’s sheer artistic excellence and it is bound to be magical!
 ~~~

I am surely excited to watch Tamasha, once again, this time on my television. All thanks to #HDFirst at &Pictures HD, I was able to list out my favorite nuances about this 'Tamasha', through this blog-post.

You'd also be watching along, next Saturday, won't you? Meanwhile, do tell me about your favorites below while we await the World HD Premiere of Tamasha on &picturesHD on Saturday, 30th April at 8 PM! :)

Being An #eSuperMom, Who Hearts Parenthood!

This blog is written for participation in the blogging contest by eKavach Parental Control App. I am writing about being an #eSuperMom! You can also submit your entry here and stand a chance to win Gold/Diamond jewelry and exciting shopping vouchers.

~~~
Our world today, is pacing rapidly towards its future, while keeping in mind, its past and living in the present moment. We have gradually mastered the art of multi-tasking and boast of the fact that we are rowing multiple boats at once.
As individuals, each one of us have multiple things on our plate and none of us want to let the plate break with the load.
As professionals in the breakneck rat race which blinds us more often than not, it is a mean feat to achieve the work-life balance.
As a parent, it is overwhelming all the same. Each parent has the same story, irrelevant of time and space coordinates.
Believe me, you when I say that I have had multiple things on MULTIPLE plates with sleepless nights, unreasonable tantrums, irritable stubbornness, and hair-raising mischief to say the least.
No kid ever was the 'most desirable' kind. They are all angels, you may say, for they take life on its face value and have innocent outlooks towards siuations.
They could be the most devilous individuals on the face of the planet too. All because they've mastered the art of being crazy and driving others crazy with their antics as well! :)
~~~

Having garnered the *experience* of being a *parent* over the last two decades...

Well, who am I kidding?

Parenting is a roller-coaster ride, and once you purchase the ticket and step into the ride (read: the kid is born), there is NO escape. It is an endless experience, and an enriching one at that.

One of the vital aspects of being a parent in today's digital age is that children are gradually becoming tech-savvy and gadget-friendly, even before they learn to speak, or to walk on their own two feet.

It is one of the primary challenges of being informed, as a parent, to question oneself - Am I completely aware of the credentials of all that my child is accessing in cyberspace?

The harrowing reality is that a majority of the parents in today's times have to face a resounding NO on the outlook.

This NO, thus helps the perpetrators of cyber crime manipulate your child and his/her cyber avatar.

Be it cyber-bullying, access to unappropriate content, or being faced by someone who resorts to vulgarity or abusiveness - all are perils which young children must be safeguarded from, and which need to be acted upon proactively.

All too often we see infants, toddlers, and young children unable to pull themselves away from technology. Young children today, are mesmerized by the glowing screens of the many gadgets in their immediate vicinity.

As parents, we need to teach the children of this twenty-first century to embrace a lifestyle that encourages exposure to technology in moderation.

~~~
This digitized life which has become a norm now, was taking its baby steps too at the time when I had embraced parenthood. Picture the last decade before the arrival of the 2K Millenium, and you would know what I am writing about.
The 90s was the time of the advent of Internet, and people - young and elder alike - were familiarizing themselbves with the what-where-how-why of cyber space.
That time and the time before that was the era when we would hear of school children being bullied, or college students being ragged. Now, however is the era when these bullies have left classrooms and corridors of campuses to attack the World Wide Web.
As goes for work-life balance, it was considerably simpler then, managing the two spheres of one's life than it is now. Tackling both the aspects now is a lot more complicated, and strains the body and mind alike.
That was the time we were exploring a new entrant in the house together. No, it was not about me and my better half getting used to the chirpiness of the daughter in the house. It was about the daughter and Yours Truly acquainting ourselves with the nitty-gritty of the humongous desktop computer and the Internet.
It was fairly easy for me to keep track of all her activities and guide her towards what was right, all along, like a shadow, because we were learning to use the device together.
Now that she's mature enough to understand the right and wrong of cyber space, am I thankful to heavens that I do not have to be bothered anymore like the new-age parents of today struggling to get their hyperactive kids to sit down and discuss this issue? :D
I am sure, I would not have been able to handle that kind of a hyperactive tiny tot!
It was one of the illustrative graphic books, meant for pre-school children which came addressed to the better half for a book review as a parent blogger, titled 'Savvy Cyber Kids', which made me realize that it is exactly the way which is described in the book that my child learnt to keep a check on her own 'Internet Time'! :)
Like always, this training, like most life skills, begins from here.
The story begins from the moment when the computer enters the house and is incorporated into the daily routine. Using the computer can be as constructive as destructive, owing to the coexistence of good and bad elements. It is the responsibility of the parent then, to be alert, and guard their child at all times.
It seems to end with cautiously countering the numerous threats posed by a cyber bully. That is the prime reasoin why a majority of sites meant for children claim to be 'kid-friendly' and sport the 'Report Abuse' option too. However, one must not s believe what is seen, and must keep a watchful eye.
A computer is not just a collection of peripherals connected together in a functional manner. It is an entire world in itself. A world which, like Pandora's Box, seems to boast of a host og opportunities and activities.
While there are numerous opportunities for kids to learn something new and explore the positive elements, there is also no dearth of negative elements, symbolic of quick sand pits, to engulf the child in.
The story of all tiny-tots, toddlers, pre-teens and teens is much like Tony and Emma's, where they must adapt the skill of quick-wittedness to tackle the harmful elements on their own too.
Tony did the right thing by opting to be safe over the World Wide Web by using only his username to introduce himself. After all, not everyone introduces themselves by their true name, and you can never be sure that way!
Many people resort to using pseudonyms, and it is a widespread phenomenon.
And thus, Emma aka Cyber Princess and Tony aka Cyber Thunder set out on their cyberspace explorations! :)
 ~~~

Taking the wise step of not revealing your true identity to protect yourself from any mischief maker is absolutely correct, but all may not remain good at all times.

That is when, we as a parent step in, to guide our children to adopt the right course of action. Our children must also learn to be truthful to us, always, by sharing with us all that has been seen and done by them.

 ~~~
'Blocking' the stalker seems to be the right thing to do, but if aggravated, the incident can also be reported to the Cyber Crime Cell to seek legal action under parental guidance or even otherwise.
The world is changing, and technology is driving that change. We must educate and empower our young digital citizens.
~~~

As an #eSuperMom, I ensured that I was always there by my daughter's side to support her whenever she needed me - be it in cyberspace, or otherwise.

Juggling between home and work is not a cakewalk, and those who believe it is or even say so, are gravely mistaken. In my opinion, they haven't had the opportunity to take the responsibility of two different worlds altogether, in the true sense.

For me, it was like housing two personalities within myself - one, for being calm and composed at my workplace and the other, for being nutsy at home!

I don't exactly have words to express how I achieve this feat each day, but I am sure of the fact that I do it pretty nicely, because my family is in awe of it, always!

My daughter believes that my sense of work-life balance is phenomenal, even though I feel like a mechanized robot already!

I guess it is this fact that my daughter looks up to me as an idol, which inspires me to keep going. :)

No, this is not a recent photograph. This is from the archives and is originally dated circa 2005. So, Yes. Time does have wings. :)

 ~~~
I believe that the an organization of the likes of Certus Technologies, who have devised the eKavach App are acting as the bearers of heralding a change in the perspective in terms of online safety for young children.
It is a game-changer in the sense that it would be able to empower the parents of our country to be alert and cautious while browsing the Internet and inculcate the same value in their children as well.
They have been attempting to ensure that the safety of kids in the cyber space is being taken care of by parents thanks to their eKavach Parental Control App. (eShield in English)
There are two separate versions of the App, which is presently available for Android and iOS devices - the Parent Version, and the Child Version.
The Parent Version to the left.
The Child Version to the right.
After my account had been setup, I was able to see the following menu, sliding from one side of the screen.
The following steps had been elucidated for me to establish a Child account, and have someone's activity to monitor.
~~~

The sync between both the versions was bang on point as I was alerted when she logged in through her device.

~~~
The following salient features enhance the functionality of the App.
The Notification Panel On-Dashboard
The Parent device has this dynamic dashboard to select which notifications to receive or not.
Turning OFF the Device Heartbeats can also lead to the toggling of Offline Alerts which notifies me of my Child's activity via SMS, for the time when my devices loses network reach.
While the Internet Categories field monitors and classifies the child's activity on the basis of Search Ketywords on the Internet - whether allowed or restricted and the Time of Usage, the Applications field keeps a check on the activity at the Play Store, which is used for managing all the apps on a particular device.
It acts like a customized 'Cyber Analytics' Dashboard, which consolidates all activity on the child device in one place.
There is also a timeline which can be utilized to segregate the statistics , titled 'Today', 'Yesterday', and 'Last 7 Days' respectively.
~~~

Device Heartbeats

The Device Heartbeats feature keeps track of the geographical coordinates of the child device on a pre-defined time basis. For instance, the parent device would be alerted after every one hour as i has been schedulked to do so. The Parent device an instant alert the moment it loses its track of the device.

This feature serves its purpose at the time when the Child device enters a no-signal zone or the battery is completely exhausted.

~~~
Site Filtering And Family Time
The Parent device can designate a status - Allowed or Blocked - to a set of websites defined by it. This is the key featue of this app which enables the parent to monitor and restrict the browsing of particular websites.
Once you define precise slots for family time – like meal time, relaxation time, play time and such, all applications on both the devices will seize to function thereby ensuring everyone quality time, to spend together, in an interactive manner.
The Child device can send an SOS to the Parent device in the face of an urgency and routine messages can be exchanged between the devices via the Send A Messsage feature.
I would like to applaud the sincere efforts of the Team behind developing eKavach. It is highly impressive in terms of the functionality it provides, the seamlessness of the setup process and the amount of detail which has been put into its development.
eKavach is the brainchild of Mrs. Noopur Raghunath of Certus Technologies
The seed for eKavach was sown when in a social gathering, her friends were talking about internet safety and ways to have a parental control over the screen time of the kids.
Being a mother herself, she wanted to create a digital application to monitor and safegauard the internet usage of the kids.
